So after going to Portland and seeing the beautiful sights just minutes outside of downtown, we decided to see what was just minutes outside of Austin. We’d heard good things about Hamilton Pool and decided to head out that way and see it in person. Typically, if we had any rain, there would have been steady waterfall into the pool, but since I can’t remember the last time we had rain, the waterfall was a slow trickle. Nonetheless, Hamilton Pool was very beautiful and the water was freezing – just as I would have expected. . . The weather could not have been any more perfect to hike out there, spend some time reading and enjoying the beauty.

After a lovely day at Hamilton Pool, we ran some errands (more about that later) and headed out to the original Brick Oven. There is something magical about that old brick oven that they have in the original location. We did a half and half pizza consisting of Portabello Mushroom & Prosciutto and Cook’s Spicy Special. It was ridiculous delicious. The crust was perfect and reminded me strongly of the pizzas I had when I was in Italy (which I haven’t tasted anything like since). I think we’ll probably be back as the price was right and the pizza was almost perfect.
