I was all ready to work on some sewing projects for my class and my machine stopped working. It was quite sad but it gave me a chance to finish up a crochet project that I had started that had been relegated to the back burner. My friends seem to be going through another baby boom right now which is quite exciting because I have a reason to make little baby items again! Especially little girl baby items. . . which leads me to this fascination with crochet baby shoes that I seem to have developed. This started with the munchkin hat and loafers that I made earlier this year. And now I love these little Simple Summer Sandals from Two Girls Patterns. Two of my friends are having little girls this summer, so they just HAD to have some little cutesy sandals!
I did modify the pattern a bit because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to make the shoes with the flowers or without – they were so cute both ways! So I added a button:
… so the flowers could be removed!
I’m pretty proud of myself for coming up with such a cute and versatile solution.
So much fun to make and finish out! I used Caron Simple Soft in Grey Heather for the soles and Stitch Nation by Debbie Stoller Washable Ewe in Duckling and Zinnia. Love little baby shoes.

those are ridiculously adorable!
such a good idea and super cute! Wish I could crochet
Yea, you finished them!!! The removable flowers…GENIUS!
