We have been doing little things around the house – touch up painting, changing light bulbs, planting some plants, putting books away (so sad) and lots and lots of cleaning and de-cluttering. One of the things that we have done at all three (yes, three) houses we have lived in and sold is depersonalize. . . remove or at least lessen the family photos so that anyone could envision moving into our house. As I was doing this, it occurred to me that I could utilize my brother-in-law and his incredible photography skills. We had a couple of his photos from when he started pursuing photography years and years ago and it was high time to update with some of his more recent stuff. I mean, he has traveled all over the place and taken some incredible pictures (check it out!).
First up, was switching out the photos over the piano. I really like some of the macro photography that he had done and especially loved some of the more ‘alien’ looking flora that he photographed. I love the way these look in a series. I love triptics (umm although my OCD is kicking in . . . why didn’t I straighten those before I took a picture!).
And then second up was to update the photos in our guest room. I picked some more ‘traditional’ looking flower photos but I love the texture and vibrant color in these particular shots.
If you’re interested in checking out some more of his photography (and you should be), check him out at DTX Weddings and DTX Photo!

Thanks for the shout out Beth!!
We are right there with you! We’re getting the house depersonalized and uncluttered to put on the market this week to downsize. Sad to take all the pics down! Good idea with the nature photos!
