The only thing I seem to be inspired about lately is Jude’s new room. When we moved into our current house, Jude was just a couple months old and I didn’t have the energy or capacity of mind to redo his room. I also knew that we wouldn’t be in our house for very long so I didn’t want to invest the emotional energy. But NOW at our next house (more on that later – we are still waiting on some things to go through and I can’t bear to talk about it before it’s final yet), I get to really MAKE Jude’s room. And he has a personality now! And likes and dislikes! So. Much. Fun.

Well, here is one of my main color inspirations. Jude really wants a blue room, and I’m going to give it to him, but it will be a little closer to aqua blue than blue blue. Don’t you love that rusty orange and grey? And those curtains, and that mobile? And well, just about everything in that photo? This picture inspired me so much that I redid my blog header to have similar colors.

I’m thinking I’ll remake this fun flow chart with an orange background and fun fonts and frame it. Because, well, it is one of his favorite songs. At least for now!

And I can’t get enough of this elephant lamp. It’s made from styrofoam. Can you even believe it? I think he would love it if I made him a giraffe lamp. With an orange chevron shade? And it’s head peaking over the top of the shade? Yes please.

And then, what I’m most excited about right now is the new quilt I’m making him. His baby quilts are a bit too small for him now so that means I’ve GOT to make him something else (any excuse to make a quilt, right?)! It’s inspired from this bedding – you know how much I like stripes. And color. Lots and lots of color.

And the backing of the quilt is going to be houndstooth in grey and rusty orange. Because I adore houndstooth (and what’s a better boyish quilt pattern?). (Sponsor plug, check out this pattern from patternspot.com!)

I’m ready to start on it, like, right now, but the I’m still waiting on the fabric to arrive!

Do you guys have any fun projects that you can’t wait to get started on?
