I think we are starting to surface from all the box unpacking from the move! We still have a ways to go – you know, putting stuff on walls, unpacking my three giant boxes of books, but some of the rooms are starting to look as I’d envisioned! Most notably, I finally got to put together our new bed! We sold our old bed because the canopy was not going to work in a smaller space and bought a storage bed from West Elm. My mom (hi Mom!), was kind enough to buy us our new headboard. The bedding inspiration came from this great store in Fredricksburg called Red in Fred. Check it out:

I knew that green fabric very well – Amy Butler’s Full Moon Dots in Lime so I whipped up my own version of the pillow cases. The sheets they had I LOVED but they were dwell studio – so expensive. So I looked around and found similar ones at West Elm as well as the grey seersucker duvet – on sale! I sewed up the bolster pillows in Metro Geometric Stars Grey by Ellen Luckett BakerĀ and happened to have that rust red pillow from two bedding sets ago.

I threw in the hand made cut paper printĀ fox for some nostalgia and whimsy and I like the result quite a bit. Jason apparently liked foxes growing up and had quite the stuffed animal collection. I thought this was a nice little nod to that.

And finally, I finished up that crochet chevron bed runner to tie everything together.

Still much organizing and unpacking to do, but it’s starting to feel like home!

Very fun! The colors are tied together nicely and this definitely has a sense of “you” – meaning, despite the photo of your inspiration above, it looks like your own original space, not something pulled out of a box or book. :)
