Oh hey! It’s October! Whew. Things are busy around here and this little blog of mine has suffered because of it. I promise, I haven’t forgotten about it and there really are some great things happening around here. Get ready to do some voting because I entered a little contest and I’m relying on you guys to help me win it. More on that later.

I gave up on piecing the back of Jude’s quilt because it was taking too dang long. I had finished quite a bit more of it but I needed to get a move on because Jude is sleeping with three baby blankets. It’s kinda time to upgrade him. I’ll use what I’ve already started for another quilt.

Jason kindly gave me an evening off last night to have some alone time with Mumford and Sons and my sewing machine. There is something cathartic and restoring about sewing, blasting music and singing at the top of your lung where no one can hear you. Ya, anyone want to be my sewing buddy now?

I decided to use the lovely Bella Warm Grey Wide Stripe as the backing (jeez, again with the stripes! I just love them so much) and I finished up quilting wavy lines across the width of the quilt last night. It went so fast. I am loving the way it’s turning out.

But I’m thinking I could use some advice. I am being indecisive about the quilt binding. Stripes, stripes everywhere and I don’t think I want to use them on the binding too. Solid color binding? Polka dots? Please guys, I need some guidance! Throw out your ideas in the comments.

    bright blue, green or orange

I’d definitely do a solid to not pull attention away from the stripes.

one of the solid colors in the quilt.

I’m with the majority! Solid will frame the stripes, help them to stand out, rather than distract from them.
