I’m totally impressed with myself: it actually looks like the toe of a sock (specifically the Little Cable Knee Highs)! I used Judy’s Magic Cast-On for the toe of the sock and it worked beautifully. No kitchener’s stitch to close the toe later! And I’m still loving the Magic Loop method for knitting in the round. I’m using Madeline Tosh Sock yarn in Candlewick and I love the slight variation in the golden tones – it makes it very engaging to work with.

The sock beginnings...

I am loving how meditative it can be to knit a sock. It’s good for my introvert soul.

Wonderful! I can’t wait to see how the fit turns out for you. I have a secret suspicion that once we start making our own socks, we’ll never be satisfied with store bought again.

You need to connect with my cousin’s wife, Amy.: http://herwitsend.blogspot.com/ She’s a little more “live on the land” and “granola” than you are, but she loves gardening and knitting! (I mean no offense by those terms, btw.) :)
